Church in Nigeria

The CoIC would like to introduce you to our church in Nigeria and Apostle Dr. Monday Inneh.  Our Director of Web Services Rev. Bryan Rutherford is in the process of creating a new website for the Nigerian Church.  We have both the old and new websites listed on our main church website http://www.churchofinterfaithchristians.org.  Look for the links there.  I am listing a little summary of what the church under the Direction of Apostle Dr. Monday Inneh is doing.  In Africa we have the following departments:

       I.            CHURCH SERVICES.

We have the normal Christian church services held on Sunday and occasionally mid week service.

      II.            THE SHAMANIC GROUP.

              A.    These are ministers ordained By Dr. Ernest Steadman and the Church of Interfaith Christians who specialize in healing, divination and other spiritual works.  Many of the shamans affiliated to this ministry now use the Holy Bible in their respective temples.

              B.     They are also involved in making prayers request possible.  Please check our Nigerian Church web-site for more information on the shamans.

III.              REVEREND STEADMAN SPIRITUAL HEALING HOME

This home is managed by Apostle Dr. Monday Inneh.  It is establish for spiritual healing, barren women, accident prevention etc.  When delegates came from Liberia some couple of years ago, their mission was to come for assistance spiritually.

IV.            OUR MOTHER VERA CHRISTIAN BAND

This band was establish to entertain the church and most on ceremonial occasion.  VERA is the wife of our founder REV. STEADMAN.

     V.            GOSPEL J. FOOTBALL CLUB.

This football club was named after Bishop Stansell (who is a Christian leader here in the US who was working with the Church of Interfaith Christians and even helped prepare some of our original training materials.)  The football team is sponsored by Dr. Monday Inneh and always in need of uniforms and equipment.

     VI.            CHILDREN DEPARTMENT

The children department was developed to help with educating the children in the church.  Sometimes we pay school fees or buy books and other writing materials like pencils and paper for the children.  Please check the website for more information.  The Universal Interfaith Christian Church in Nigeria has found the only area they can successfully place their members in schools is to have their school.

Presently the Universal Interfaith Christian Church, Nigeria, has actual members of 50 adults with 80 children and we have 25 Shamans who are involved in  healing and other spiritual works.  In addition there are more than 2000 affiliates who attend or use services throughout the year.

At the end of October, the Landlord of the house where the church members were worshipping gave the church one month notice to quit.  Originally the place that was being used for services was donated by Chief John Osamede Adun, one of the church elders, but now the church is going toned to pay rent for a house for the church, or the church members could build a house for the church on an area of land that belongs to the church.

The Church of Interfaith Christians would like to send a delegate to visit Dr. Inneh and the members of the Church in Nigeria.  Dr. Inneh tells us that Conferences could be held at the Interfaith Garden there.  We have not firmed up any plans yet.  It takes time to plan such a trip and time to do some fundraising for the trip.

Through our efforts in Nigeria the CoIC can help find solutions to the problem of Interfaith all over the world.  There are other organizations like the URI, United Nation on Religious Tolerance, the World Council of Churches etc who are working on solutions as well and we look forward to helping Dr. Inneh to get in contact with them as well.

Dr. Inneh and members of the Nigerian Church would love to hear from other members and friends of the CoIC here.  The people really enjoy seeing photos and artwork of the members who are writing so include photos of yourselves and family and drawings or coloring pictures.  All correspondence either to Dr. Inneh directly or to members of the church in general should be sent to:

 Apostle Dr. Monday Inneh

45 IGUN STREET

 BENIN CITY NIGERIA WEST AFRICA

A first class letter from the states cost about $0.98 to mail and takes three weeks to get there.  We plan on sending pictures of the Board Members to Dr. Inneh so they can post them on the prayer board for church.  We have arranged to order Bibles through the American Bible Society and have them delivered by the Nigerian Bible Society saving us considerably in shipping costs.

If you would like to make donations to the church in Nigeria you can send your donations through PayPal to minister_coic@yahoo.com or mail checks made out to ‘Sharra McDearmont’ to the address below.  Be sure that in the comments section you tell us your donation is for the Nigerian church.   Thank you and look for more information from us in the future.
