Great Teachers, Religions and Bibles

The Church of Interfaith Christians is all about sharing Jesus’ true teachings with others. Sometimes it is hard to get at the truth just reading the Bible version of His life. We must remember though that Jesus gave us witness of how to live, how we should live, and we need to pay attention to that. I think back to the time in which Jesus and His disciples lived. (This is so important, especially to Christians because our beliefs in life are tied to these topics. They affect everything we bring into our present life situations.)

The story is being told by Jesus disciples. Think about this for a minute. If we were to gather together a group of people to experience a controlled event when they part after the experience each person would leave with a different perspective on what had happened. Each person would tell their story differently because what we receive has more to do with who we are and what we believe then what it has to do with the experience that was offered equally to all.

As people leave the event and start expressing to others what they”ve experienced, each of them will explain it in a different way. Jesus’ disciples were no exception. As they expressed their experience of life with Jesus to others who had not been present to experience it themselves (that includes all of us) they were really only able to express a small part of what happened.or what they actually experienced. It is the same with all of us. We experience life on many levels but when we repeat with words what we’ve experienced, we can only speak (or write) on one level.

Now to add to that, whatever person the disciples talk to will receive the information based on who they are, their own experience in life, and their beliefs not necessarily what was actually being said. Now the people who received the information will repeat it to the next person, as best they can remember anyway. The next person will fill in the missing places and there are many missing places because words are so inadequate.

They fill in the missing places with their own beliefs, with there own imagination and with their own intent. Eventually and only a few generations away from the actual happenings there is now tremendous distortion. Reminds me of the game we used to play where we whispered something written on paper to the first person and they whispered it to the next and so on and so on until we got to the last person in line who was asked to repeat it out loud. What he would say would always be so different from what was written down.

In all honesty we cannot rely on the explanation of the experience by others. We must seek our own experience. It is through our own experience that we live, and that we gain our ‘knowing.’. We are spiritual beings living in this time and as nonphysical beings we really wanted to be here on earth in this time. We chose it.

From our broader spiritual perspective, from the perspective that we made the decision to be physical beings in this time, we understood the value of having a physical life experience not only for our own personal evolvement but to the evolvement of All-That-Is, (God, this Universe, the Holy Spirit.) As spiritual beings while still in our nonphysical state and through God and Holy Spirit we applied the deliberate laws of creation and emerged into the physical bodies we have now and into our own unique physical experiences, each of us intending to have new experience and growth.

As we emerged into this physical experience we entered into the agreement of this time and of this space, the earthly agreements of gravity, time and space and the agreement of leaving behind our memories of that which was (while in our non-physical state, so that through this new experience we could create a fresh new experience unhampered by old beliefs.

But we did not disconnect completely from that which we were non-physically.. For the spirit in us, that part of us that exists beyond all births and deaths, is in us now even as we exist in this present physical dimension. And that spirit within us (or the small part of our non physical selves that connects us with God and All-That-Is) communicates with us through our emotions, through our feelings positive or negative, that we once referred to as our conscience..

As we recognize that our non-physical selves exist and we begin to deliberately communicate with that part of ourselves, and through that part of ourselves. we become expanded beings and believe it or not that is the main part of our purpose in being here as we chose this time to be a part of the physical experience on planet Earth.

There have been some great teachers that have come before (Jesus being one of them) who have obtained this spiritual opening within themselves (become expanded beings) and were able to stay in constant contact with God. Interestingly in many cases these expanded beings became great leaders, teachers, and founders of new religious thought. (Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed come to mind.) This is the example Jesus gave us that we should become like him. We did not emerge into this physical experience to seek and find such a physical leader just to sit at His feet. We emerged to open our own passageway to God and become expanded being ourselves for it is through our own experiences that we will gain the ‘knowing’.

Jesus has provided us with much much more than His words. He has provided us with a clear example of ‘being’. There is not death but eternal life. As you seek the counsel of Jesus (or any great teacher), speak with them personally through meditation and prayer. Let your intent be to experience the clear example of Him not the distorted version of Him that is offered through years of editing and distorting. Go to the source of the truth you are seeking and find it yourself, and then trust the guidance that comes forth from within you. It is time to live and to grow and to create and to add unto.
