In Memory of Chaplain Randy Wilson

In Memory of Chaplain Randy Wilson

I write to you now concerning our dear friend and brother Chaplain Randy Wilson. Chaplain Wilson wrote a message to the church through the Yahoo group last June 27, 2011. He was recovering from pneumonia with the use of antibiotics but had also completed a number of tests that showed he had cancer of the left lung, the liver, and the bone marrow in his lower spine. He was getting ready to undergo chemo at the time. Chaplain Wilson had explained to me that when he was serving in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam war, his entire unit of about 19 men were exposed repeatedly at some length of time to Agent Orange. Everyone that had been in his unit had died or were dying of cancer. At that time we had talked about it, only himself and one other who already had cancer were left. I had a personal email or two in the days following his announcement asking me to take over some things for him and then all of a sudden there was no word at all and the Yahoo Groups he had asked me to take over were gone. I wasn’t sure what had happened but I suspected the reason and hoped otherwise. I searched on the web regularly looking for information. Brother Segee found his obituary and sent it to me yesterday.

Randall David Wilson passed from this world July 4, 2011 just one week after writing his notice to us. He was 63 years old having been born June 11, 1948. I think we could say he lived a full life, always involved, always learning. He had so much to give and so many friends who looked up to him. I particularly enjoyed talking with him about growing up with sisters, the majestic wolves, the psychic network, crystals, stones and American Indian jewelry, Celtic heritages and sacred writings (and the fact that we both had worked for Haliburton.) Needless to say we had a lot of the same interests. I am sure all of us have fond memories of him in one way or another. He was a very interesting person. I remember Chaplain Wilson and Dr. Steadman had fun doing things for others and giving gifts but they wouldn’t tell the person who it was from. It would spoil the intent if they did. Both were great examples of living.

Randall Wilson was survived by his parents Dave and Mary Wilson, three sisters, three daughters and a number of grandchildren. He was a member of the Freemasons, the Shriners, the Knights Templar, the Scottish Rite, and a host of other organizations. Chaplain Randy was also a Bishop of St. Philip Neri Archdiocese, a reformed Catholic church along with Bishop JW Stansell and Archbishop Martin McGuire. He was one of the first members of the Church of Interfaith Christians, Dr. Steadman and he becoming friends in 2003. Chaplain Randy served on the board of directors 2010 – 2011 as the Director of Ministerial Training and had many great ideas for us. Chaplain Randy was an Alchemist with his own Apothecary and a Psychic in his own right. As I started in the leadership of the COIC Chaplain Randy helped me to stay in touch with the healer/shaman that was my real self.

Something Chaplain Wilson once said:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.
Shared grief is half the sorrow,
but happiness when shared, is doubled.
If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can’t buy.
`Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present .’

He would sign off on his messages with “Truth is Truth, no matter who speaks it.”

Chaplain Randy would say of those dear that passed, “They are indeed free now and the memories should be cherished until that wonderful day when we are rejoined.…”

Chaplain Randy, you are free now. I hope that you and Dr. Steadman are able to have a great visit. We cherish our memories with you until that wonderful day when we are rejoined, God bless.
